Freddy’s Lefse has been family owned and operated since 1946 and is one of the oldest and largest lefse bakeries in the US. Our lefse is hand-rolled thin to perfection, just like grandma used to make. In 2022 Freddy's added its Nordic Kitchen line of hand-mixed Scandinavian organic baking mixes. Product is available wholesale and retail.

Company History

Freddy’s Lefse has been a family-owned business since it was established in 1946 by Fred and Lorraine Cox.

Freddy’s Lefse’s beginning can be traced back to Fred and Lorraine's one-room operation in their north Fargo home, then to a small neighborhood shop employing the local neighborhood women, followed by a newly built bakery they constructed behind their home in 1977, and finally to the current bakery in West Fargo.

In 1996 the business continued with their sons, Terry and Barry Cox, with Terry’s wife Michele, and their daughter Amanda. In the fall of 2020, the Cox family decided it was time to retire their rolling pins and sold the business to long-time customers and Norwegian descendants Katie and Bryan Nermoe. They continue to produce lefse with the same quality and care that the Cox family started in 1946.

Freddy's is the oldest and largest lefse bakery in the United States. Our lefse is handmade and hand rolled.
