1882 Winery & Vineyard is family owned and the first winery in Griggs County.  Near the Sheyenne River Valley, the property was first owned by Thomas Cooper in 1882, the same year Cooperstown was founded.  Many homestead claims along the Sheyenne River Valley, including their ancestors, were filed that same year.  They have been creating quality wines from fruits and grapes located at their farm since 2010 and are proud to use only North Dakota grown fruits and cold climate grapes including varieties such as Petite Pearl, Crimson Pearl, La Crescent, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Blanc, St. Pepin  and Marquette in their wines.
