The Weekend Baker of Fargo

The Weekend Baker of Fargo is a Fargo, ND based home bakery,  specializing in unique baked goods and sourdough breads that have been influenced by the places I have called home.

Having been born in the Philippines and lived in San Diego, Monterey and Japan, my past- time is recreating recipes from all over the world.

Monterey California was,  of course, where I had experienced sourdough at its finest.

It has been the inspiration for my own sourdough creations,  such as the heart shaped original plain sourdough, to the more daring beer cheddar bacon.

San Diego's influence is my Jalapeño Cheddar Sourdough, a nod to Mexican cuisine of the neighboring Tijuana.

I offer a unique ube (ooh-bè) sourdough. Ube originated from the Philippines and has recently made its debut on the American food scene.

It is a deep purple tuber,  sought after for its color and distinct flavor. Shokupan is a Japanese milk bread that is known for its floss like crumb.  My most recent successful recipe is cinnamon sugar popovers; the use of sourdough culture in this recipe takes the flavor profile up a notch or three and is very popular!

I could talk about sourdough forever!
