Mercer & Sons Woodcrafts is a family owned, custom furniture and home furnishing business located in Grand Forks, ND. Our family specializes in custom built home furnishing products. We also carry inventory of many kitchen items, games, and decor. Come see us for unique charcuterie boards, serving boards, cutting boards, coasters, stove top boards, pizza peels, cribbage boards, ring toss games, and more. We are a great source for supplying your handmade corporate gifts!
While primarily a power tool shop, each piece we construct is planed, scraped, and sanded by hand to finesse and refine the shape and feel. We start with timber of the highest quality, then use traditional and modern joinery techniques to create a heirloom quality piece. Our hybrid woodworking approach yields top quality pieces our clients are very proud to own. Using this method, we create dining tables, coffee tables, bar tables, end tables, sofa tables, and entry benches.
We primarily build with domestic and exotic wood species, wood slabs, epoxy, and metal. If it is made out of wood, we can make it!

History: How It Began
Geoff enjoyed crafting furniture and custom item requests for family and friends. When sons Tommy and Charley showed interest in spending more time in the shop, they began to create together! They posted a few items online for people to see and received an overwhelming response. Mercer & Sons Woodcrafts was born!
What's in a name?
They are proud to be their family’s 2nd iteration of “Mercer and Sons”. Tommy and Charley’s great-grandpa operated a cabinet and millwork shop in Eureka, CA with his four sons by the same name. Their Grandpa John - one of the Sons in Mercer and Sons - remembers shoveling the neverending sawdust into great big mountains with a barn shovel. One of Geoff’s first memories making sawdust is helping his (then retired) Grandpa Mercer mill up walnut for a project.
