Company History
JD Laser Works LLC was officially established in 2024 by owner Danielle Whaley, and Operations Manager Jim Erickson, founded on a commitment to resilience, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of financial independence. The business operates entirely out of a home-based workshop located in Fargo, North Dakota.
From its inception, the goal has been to merge modern technology with meticulous, handmade quality. The initial investment in a versatile "arsenal" of production tools—including diode, CO2, and fiber lasers, alongside 3D printers—allowed for immediate diversification of product offerings, from intricate seasonal decor to highly personalized keepsake items.
JD Laser Works quickly carved a niche in custom creation, focusing on unique personalization that honors customer sentiment, such as engraving loved ones' handwritten recipes onto cutting boards. The operation began with a strong emphasis on the entire design and finishing process—from initial software design to hand-painting, staining, and assembly—ensuring every piece is special and beautiful, a reflection of the pride taken in avoiding shortcuts.
The company is currently focused on optimizing its operations and expanding its market presence through strategic vendor show attendance and local networking within the North Dakota business community.
