Company History
HomeSpun Chick began in 2012 as the result of a 4-H project created by Karey’s son, Jayden. For the Stutsman County Fair, Jayden crafted goat milk soap using milk from the family’s goats, earning Reserve Grand Champion for his project. That experience sparked a deeper interest in goat milk skincare and laid the foundation for what would become HomeSpun Chick.
Inspired by Jayden’s award-winning recipe, Karey began making goat milk soaps as gifts for family and friends. As interest grew, so did her commitment to learning, refining formulations, and developing products that were gentle, dependable, and made with care.
Over time, HomeSpun Chick expanded beyond soap to include goat milk lotions, sugar scrubs, and lip balms, all handcrafted in small batches using fresh goat milk from the family’s herd. The business has continued to evolve through hands-on experience and a focus on quality, consistency, and thoughtful ingredient selection.
HomeSpun Chick continues to be a family-run business founded on the values of Faith, Family, and Farming. Those values guide the creation of skin-nourishing goat milk skincare made with care and intention, inspired by farm life and a commitment to integrity and tradition. Products are sold through wholesale partnerships, vendor shows, and our website.
