The State Fair Center will be filled with vendor booths and shoppers when the Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase returns to Minot, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14-15.
“This is the time and place for your holiday shopping,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “More than 100 booths will be filled with a tremendous variety of North Dakota-made foods and condiments, decorative and gift items, jewelry, recordings and much more.
The showcase is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $2 per adult. Parking is free for Pride of Dakota shoppers.
“Once again, shoppers will get a reusable, cloth bag with their paid admission,” Goehring said. “Shoppers who bring their own reusable, cloth bag get $1 off their admission.”
The bag giveaway is sponsored by the Bank of North Dakota, Great River Energy and the North Dakota Corn Growers Association.
“Our servicemen and women and their families also get a dollar off their admission fee by presenting their military identification,” Goehring said.
Additionally, retailers can receive one dollar off their admission by presenting their sales tax license at the door. “This is a great opportunity to purchase a few items to try in your store before establishing a wholesale order. Plus, retailers can support a fellow North Dakota small business in the process. It’s a chance to begin a working relationship that could be beneficial for many companies and local retail stores,” said Goehring.
Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcases are also scheduled for Nov. 20-22, in the Fargo Scheels Arena, Fargo, and Dec. 4-6, in the Bismarck Event Center, Bismarck.
Administered by the Marketing and Information Division of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the Pride of Dakota program provides member companies with cooperative marketing and promotional events, such as in-store demonstrations, Pride of Dakota Day and the Holiday Showcases, Harvest Showcase and Spring Showcase. The program also provides educational opportunities and representation at regional, national and international marketing expositions. More than 500 North Dakota companies are Pride of Dakota members.
