Marketing Assistance Program (MAP) Guidelines

The Marketing Assistance Program (MAP) will give food companies the opportunity to expand their markets. The program will provide matching funds for travel and lodging expenses to increase sales of North Dakota food and agriculture.

• In order to qualify for matching funds, the company must meet these criteria:
  Must be a food processor.
• Must be in good standing as a Pride of Dakota member.
• Have the potential for creating or increasing sales of North Dakota products.
• Show ability to provide competent staff and other resources to ensure execution of project.
• Show willingness and ability to back up promotional activities with aggressive selling and adequate supplies.
• Attend a sponsored Pride of Dakota or Marketing Services trade show or a trade event approved by the Agriculture Commissioner.
• Complete accompanying paperwork with proper verifying documents:

• Prior to the event
  A. Document A - Complete MAP Agreement Form
  B. Document B - Complete the Company Action Plan (Example Document)

• Following the event
  C. Document C - Within 2-weeks after the show, complete MAP Expense Report (For 1 company representative only) Include adequate receipts for expenditures
  D. Document D - Complete Follow-up Report to receive 75% reimbursement

• 6-months following the event
  E. Document E - Complete the 6-Month Review to receive 25% reimbursement

Eligible expenses during travel in the US and Canada may be incurred the day prior to the show, the day(s) of the show, and the day following the show. Eligible expenses during travel outside the US and Canada may be incurred two days prior to the show, the day(s) of the show, and two days following the show. Individual companies qualify for a maximum of $2,000 out of the total pool of funds available.
